The Parties discussed issues of the European integration in Ukraine, perspectives of signing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement during the summit in Vilnius and perspectives of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Czech Republic.
“This year is very important for Ukraine, as in November the Association Agreement and Free Trade Zone Agreement may be signed,” the Committee Chairman Hryhoriy Nemyria stressed.
He emphasized that “the country striving to reproach the EU can not have political prisoners,” and expressed hopes that this problem will be solved before the Association Agreement signing.
In addition, the Chairman of the Committee expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for its consistent support of Ukraine's European aspirations and noted that Ukraine's parliament must make all efforts necessary to sign the Agreement.
“European integration unites all factions of the Ukrainian Parliament and shows the willingness of Ukrainian people to become members of the European family,” said the Committee member Mykola Dmytruk.
The Chairman of the Committee on EU Matters of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miroslav Krejci supported Ukraine’s rapprochement to the EU and stressed that he views “Ukraine as a member of the European family”.
